Growing Tomato Seedlings Without Sunlight

How do we grow tomato seedlings without sunlight? Tomato seedlings need a lot of sunlight in order to grow. In fact, even as full grown tomato plants, they won't be able to bear fruits without 12-14 hours of sunlight a day. So I was really worried when the weather started getting gloomy. I didn't know then that typhoon Pedring has already hit the country.

The previous night before Pedring hit, my tomato seedlings also got strewn on the floor. Soil was everywhere and my little babies were uprooted and laying on the floor...

We left the window open that night before we went out to dinner at Mom and Tina's Bakery Cafe. Little did we know that a bird would try to flow in and try to eat them. How did I know? It's just my speculation coz I found a little brown feather in the midst of all the litter.

Anyway, I tried my best to repot them hoping that the next day, the sunlight would help them grow. Then the typhoon hit.

They're slowly dying and I felt so bad... I know there are other things to worry about in the midst of this bad weather (like the fact that we no longer have food and water in the house). But anyway, before I went to bed this morning, I placed them under my lamp hoping against hope that they will keep photosynthesizing under an artificial light. My friends on facebook, Adyboy and Ritz, told me so.

Few hours later, I checked up on them and it seemed to work! Some leaves have wilted but at least they're facing the light again and not crouched and looking like they're dying. Yay! Thanks Adyboy and Ritz! :)

I'm really praying that this bad weather goes away soon. A lot of areas are already flooded, school has been suspended and it's just not good for the economy. Til then...
